Do you have your “routine”; your “comfort zone”? What would make you change it? King Solomon longed to fulfill pleasures by temporary things on earth and forgot that his true comforter, the Lord, is the only one who could satisfy. King Solomon made little concessions and allowed others, overtime, to turn his heart away from God. Identifying areas in our lives that need repentance and spending daily time with God through his word will guard our hearts from the idol of comfort. God should always be at the center.
