No one likes to not be liked. But living for the approval of others can destroy us! King Saul forgot the approval he already had when the Lord anointed him as king. He blamed others to protect his reputation. Remembering that we have been approved of by God through Jesus empowers us to live in obedience to the One who loves us. This simple truth is truly liberating: God loves you!

Why do wise people make dumb decisions? It’s easy to blame a person, a situation, or even an object for our own choices. But the truth is, we make decisions based on what we are living for. Every person is capable of serving Jesus or an idol. Discover what you’re living for and determine if it will produce wise or dumb decisions.

If your main goal is your kid's obedience, you're settling for something less than and you're setting yourself up to have anger stirred up regularly. Instead of obedience being the objective, there's a long-term target that will go a long way toward winning as a parent.

When our kids mess up, our tendency is to take something away from them. However, punishment shouldn't be the end goal of discipline. Restoration should be. Paul builds on his definition of love by showing us the need for kindness. Without a culture of honor, we cannot discipline our kids the way God invites us to.

Is it possible to not get angry? How can we respond when other people hurt us? Jesus said that anger is as deadly as murder. Jesus is inviting us to live differently because of the righteousness that He offers. Today, you can be free from hating other people. There is a way to live in God’s Kingdom that is filled with love and forgiveness.

What’s the one thing you wish you could stop? We’ve all got areas in our lives where we are trying to find freedom. Jesus calls us to love God with all of our heart, soul, and mind. How can this happen? Only through the daily encouragement of other believers can we truly live the abundant lives Jesus gives. We love one another when we choose to connect, protect, and grow with each other. This happens at Blaze Church through small groups.

Is it important to share the gospel with others? Too often telling people about Jesus is on our “I’ll do it tomorrow” list. Jesus taught his disciples that there are opportunities every day to lead someone to know God. In his time with the Samaritan woman, Jesus shows us exactly how to share God’s love with others. True nourishment comes when we blaze the way for people to know God!
