What does it mean for a church to have healthy spiritual leadership? Scripture is filled with teaching on how pastors and leaders are called to live godly lives. When that happens, the church is called to submit in a way that propels the church to grow. Pastor Brian McMillan encourages Blaze Church to live what God has instructed so that we can continue to blaze the way for more people to Know God!

No one likes to wait. We are told that waiting is a waste of time. But waiting on God is always worth it! In Psalm 40, we discover the four blessings that come when we wait patiently on the Lord!

We all have bad days. How do we respond? Where do bring our sadness? In this Psalm of Lament, we see the song writing sharing a raw, authentic prayer with God. We are invited to cast all of our anxiety on God, because He cares for us! No matter what we go through, we can be sure that the wrath of God will not placed on us - Jesus took it to the cross! Allow your emotions to point you to the One Who made you and loves you!

Jesus told a story of a king throwing a big party. His guests refused to come, so the king invited people who were overlooked to attend. Jesus shows us the gospel that declares everyone is invited, and everyone is given the ability to respond. As servants of the king, we have the privilege of telling everyone we know that they are invited to know God! We are celebrating five years as a church, and are believing that the next five will be filled with more of God’s grace and favor!

God has created you to do good works. Too often we know what to do, but we struggle with doing it. The Jewish people prayed the SHEMA twice a day to remind themselves to love God. Jesus declared that the greatest commandment was to love God AND love people. Our love is responsive; God first loved us. Is God’s love in you causing you to love people around you? Discover the only motivation for you to make a difference in this world.

No one enjoys being stuck in life. So many people are searching for purpose and meaning. As believers, our purpose is not found horizontally, it is found by looking to Jesus. He gives us an abundant life, and through the Holy Spirit, provides us with gifts so that we can live with purpose! Lock eyes with Jesus and discover the purpose God has for you!

Trying to break a habit or addiction can be frustrating when we keep falling. Why do we continue to sin after we’ve been saved? After God got Israel out of Egypt, He then provided a way to get Egypt out of them! Jesus declared that whoever He sets free is fully free. Too often, we use our freedom to satisfy our flesh - the part of us that is still being renewed. Transformation happens best in community! Small groups are the environment where we can find freedom, and become the new creations God has declared that we are!

What is the most important thing in your life? There is nothing more important than knowing God. Many of us are living in Egypt; the place where our identity and mission is not God-first. God used plagues and Passover to bring the Jewish people out of Egypt. Christ is our Passover lamb who gets us out of Egypt by His own blood. Don’t settle for an empty way of life. Respond to God’s great love for you by believing in His Son!
